LEAKED PICS: Gareth Southgate’s iconic waistcoat could be getting a subtle upgrade

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear waistcoats.

We’ll be honest, it never crossed our mind to throw on a waistcoat before the World Cup. But we haven’t taken ours off since the tournament started.

Honestly, we’ve even been showering in it. The man to blame for the fashion craze sweeping the nation is soon-to-be-Sir Gareth Southgate.

Sales of waistcoats have soared by 35% at Marks & Spencer thanks to Southgate’s humble swagger.

The hype surrounding his waistcoat went to another level when photos emerged claiming to show ‘it’s coming home’ stitched into the lining of Southgate’s waistcoat.

To good to be true? Unfortunately so. But don’t fear.

Soon to be gracing Milan Fashion Week

The viral stunt, which left fans asking where they can purchase the waistcoat IRL, was done to highlight the Huawei P20 Pro’s zoom.

Huawei are now rumoured to be lobbying England squad tailors M&S to make the ‘it’s coming home’ waistcoat a reality.

Leaked images, as shown above, appear to show production underway on the waistcoat, with both Huawei and M&S engaging openly on Twitter.

We photoshopped this waistcoat for fun but England fans want it made for real. The ball is in your court @marksandspencer, bring it home! #WorldCup #Southgate #ENG #WaistcoatsComingHome https://t.co/jSJKFHuDOj

Imagine the scenes.

Southgate leading England out at the World Cup final wearing a waistcoat with ‘it’s coming home’ stitched into his waistcoat.

Millions of waistcoat-wearing fans watching back home, cheering England on to a comfortable 3-0 win over whoever is unlucky enough to meet us in the final.

Football comes home. The waistcoat comes home. We then proceed to have a two-month national holiday.

It’s the stuff dreams are made of.
