Apparently, there’s a brilliant football tournament coming up in the next few days.

The Florida Cup, an annual friendly competition that’s held in Florida, obviously, takes place between January 10 and 20 – and features the likes of Rangers, PSV, Polish giants Legia Warsaw, Atletico Mineiro and Corinthians, among others,

Not bad, right?

It is the fourth year of the competition after beginning in 2015 and has seen Wolfsburg and Cologne win the tournament previously.

The winter break in Scotland has allowed the Gers to travel to the Sunshine State, with their last domestic game coming against Celtic on December 30 – while they return to action in the Scottish Cup at Fraserburgh on Sunday January 21.

And we’re sure it’ll be a welcome change to the winter weather of Scotland for Graeme Murty’s side.

There’s certainly worse places to be right now, eh?

Admittedly, when we first saw the fixture list, we did get a little excited – after all, Ranger’s first game of the tournament is against Atletico Mineiro.

Imagine that, Rangers up against the likes of Robinho and Jo.

However, the Brazil stars are reportedly set to miss the clash as they seek moves to new clubs, while the majority of the South American sides will field reserve and youth line-ups, with the Brazilian season starting earlier this year due to this summer’s World Cup.

Still, might be worth a watch until the Champions League comes back around.
